Groovo is a dance formation planning app. This page explains what data Groovo handles and how.
Groovo does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use the app.
Everything you create in Groovo — projects, dancers, formations, timeline cues, audio files you import, and moodboard notes/images — is stored locally on your device only. None of this is uploaded to us or to any third party, except for the one case described below.
If you use the "AI Formations" feature to generate formation suggestions, Groovo sends the following to Google's Gemini API (via a backend service we operate) in order to generate a response: the number of dancers, the stage grid dimensions, your text description of the formation you want, and the positions of nearby formations for context. This only happens when you actively use this feature — it is never sent automatically or in the background. We do not store this data ourselves beyond what's needed to relay the request.
Groovo uses Apple's built-in photo picker to let you add images to a project's moodboard. Groovo only ever receives the specific photos you choose to add — it does not have access to your full photo library. Selected photos are copied and stored locally on your device as part of your project data.
Groovo does not include analytics SDKs, advertising, or any third-party tracking of your activity.
Groovo does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since no account or personal information is required to use the app, there is nothing to collect.
